No One Fights Alone: Support Kaia Witte's Battle with Tansverse Myelitis

Dear friends and family,

It is with heavy hearts that I share the news of Kaia's recent diagnosed of Transvere Myelitis where her immune system attacks the spinal cord which has left her with many challenges including numbness in her lower body and the inability to walk.

Kaia has always been an active 14 year old girl. On August 29th she was in her last class of the day which was Dance and she got a strong burning senation down both legs leading to pain. In just 3 hours after getting home from school and experiencing the pain, her sensation to feel touch and her ability to walk was completely gone.

This diagnosis has presented her with a new set of obstacles to overcome. After almost 3 1/2 weeks in the Hospital, she is fianlly being discharged. She will go home with a wheel chair, walker, special shoes and legs braces, back brace, and other supplies needed for her recovery. Kaia will also being continuing physical/occupuational therapy 3 times a week to try and regain her mobility.

I am starting this GoFundMe campaign to help rasie funds for Kaia's medical expenses and rehabilitation costs. Your donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference in her families ability to face the financial burdens of the huge medical bills, and also by allowing Kaia and her family to take time from work and school to focus on her recovery.
