On September 2nd, 2025 Kage was brought to the Emergency Room at Whitman County Hospital complaining of a swollen throat and tongue. When doing a CT Scan on his throat they noticed the top of a large mass in his chest which prompted a second CT Scan of the abdomen. This scan found an extremely large mass pushing on his heart and lungs. He was rushed to Sacred Heart Children's Hospital in Spokane to their oncology center to have further scans and biopsies performed which confirmed Hodgkin's Lymphoma at what was though to be at Stage 2. After spending 7 days in the oncology center and a bout of chemotherapy he was sent home with us. A PET Scan done after the first round of treatment revealed additional tumors in the nodes of his lungs which upgraded the diagnosis to Stage 4.
