My name is Kaelynn, and asking for help is something I never imagined I’d have to do. I’ve always been extremely prideful and tried to handle things on my own, but after a recent medical crisis, I’ve found myself in a situation where I can’t do it alone. About a month ago, I was rushed to the ER with severe abdominal pain and discovered I had a large mass on my left ovary. I’ve had ovarian cysts before, but this one was much more serious. After being referred to a gynecologic oncologist, I was told I needed surgery right away. Unfortunately, my insurance wouldn’t approve the procedure immediately, so I spent nearly two weeks on bedrest, making multiple trips to the ER due to pain and complications.
Just a few days ago, I underwent surgery. The doctors had to change their plan at the last minute and ended up removing my ovary and a fallopian tube. Now, I’m waiting for biopsy results to find out if the mass is cancerous. The recovery has kept me out of work for over a month, and it will be at least another couple of weeks before I can return. In the meantime, every bill is due, my daughter’s birthday just passed, and Christmas is right around the corner. I’m on the verge of losing my car, and my roommate has had to cover my share of the bills. The financial stress is overwhelming, and I’m doing everything I can to keep things together for myself and my family.
I understand times are hard for everyone right now, especially with Christmas around the corner, and I know not everyone is in a position to be able to donate. But anything at all helps and will be deeply appreciated, even just a prayer. Thank you so much for reading my story and for any support you can offer.
