On August 7, 2025, our sweet Ginny’s life changed in an instant. She was struck by a motorcycle right in front of her home in Dryden, NY. The 7-year-old Thai Ridgeback mix isn’t “just a dog.” She’s family to Kaelee, Ian and three children who adore her, especially the baby. Thankfully the motorcyclist was not injured.

Ginny’s story was already one of resilience.

When Kaelee fell in love with "Ginger" on Petfinder, she thought that she was in NYC. But Ginny’s journey began much farther away. She was found injured and alone on the side of a road in Bangkok, Thailand and rushed to a local animal hospital. After two months of care, she was finally healthy enough to make the long trip to the U.S. and be with the family that would love her forever.

Ginny is once again fighting for her life and needs help.

When it happened, Kaelee rushed her to Colonial Animal Hospital, where the team was already waiting outside to take her in for emergency care. Their quick action saved Ginny’s life. Thankfully, scans show no brain hemorrhaging — but the road to recovery will be long and costly.

Ginny will need at least 6–8 weeks of recovery time, several follow-up visits, and continued medication and monitoring to heal fully.

The vet bills are overwhelming but Ginny’s family would do anything to see her happy and healthy.
