Living with lupus has been the most challenging and frightening experience of my life. Although I’ve dealt with symptoms for years, I was officially diagnosed in February, and since then, my health has taken a turn for the worse. My job has not supported me, even with my FMLA accommodations, and I’ve faced threats for missing work due to my illness. There have been times when I’ve fainted at work, needed EMS assistance, and had to leave for emergency room visits because my condition was not taken seriously. The stress from this situation is overwhelming, and it’s making my lupus symptoms even harder to manage.
What makes this even more difficult is being a parent to two children who have to watch me struggle and get worse. It’s heartbreaking to try to explain to them what’s happening when I don’t always have the answers myself. I want to be there for them, but right now, I need to focus on healing and getting the care I need. Taking time off work is necessary, but it means I have no income coming in, and the stress of worrying about bills and transportation to medical appointments is a heavy burden.
Asking for help is not easy for me. I’ve always tried to handle things on my own, but I’ve reached a point where I can’t do it alone anymore. Your support would mean the world to me and my family, helping us cover essential bills and transportation while I take the time to heal. Thank you for reading my story and considering a donation. Your kindness will make a real difference in our lives.
