UPDATE*

At approximately 1:36 on February 9th, Kade went to be with the Lord. Thank you for everyone’s kind words and support for Chad and his family, please continue as they navigate this next chapter.

Last October, our brother Kade was diagnosed with stage 4 metastasized gallbladder cancer. Doctors gave Kade a timeline of 3-6 months. He began treatment immediately in Montana, where he and his family were living while seeking alternative care options. Shortly after his diagnosis, Kade and his wife Shelly were able to go to Oasis of Hope hospital in Mexico to engage in a 21-day treatment plan to extend his time with his family. After the treatment in Mexico, Kade, Shelly, and their 4 younger children came to Texas to spend time with family and seek treatment. During their time in Texas, Kade’s doctors removed over 15 liters of fluid off his abdomen. Kade and his family have since moved to Missouri to be with Kade’s mom and receive treatment there. Kade’s doctors are continuing to monitor him and give treatments as necessary, the latest being additional fluid removal and a stent inserted into his liver.

Kade’s family has always seen him as the life of the party, the one to pull everyone together for a little “family fun.” He has always been a rock for his family through all the good and the bad, but now it is time that his family becomes his rock. While Kade has accepted his diagnosis and feels his life and time left are in God's hands, making the best of the time left with their 5 kids and 2 grandbabies has become their main focus. With the uncertainty of his future, we can only anticipate so much. With all past, present, and future medical expenses, travel and housing, and potential future funeral expenses, as a family and community, we are trying to help support Kade and his family as much as we can as they navigate their new reality. We are asking for prayers for Kade and his family, as those who have undergone similar events can understand how hard this can be for a family, and those that haven’t can sympathize.
