Hi, my name is Natalia, and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my brother Lyman and sister-in-law Somaya and their son, Kaden Artalejo, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.

On August 7, 2025, Kaden, age 20, was rushed to LDS Hospital after lab results revealed dangerously low blood counts. That same night, he was admitted and soon diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL)—a fast-moving and aggressive form of cancer. His platelet levels were near zero, and his immune system has completely crashed.

He’s now undergoing emergency treatment with the incredible teams at LDS Hospital, the University of Utah, and Huntsman Cancer Institute. The diagnosis is heartbreaking, but Kaden has shown nothing but courage and calm as he faces what’s ahead.

What we need help with:

As his care begins immediately, our family is facing several unexpected but critical expenses. Your support will help with:

• Sperm banking at the Huntsman Center ($175–$200) to preserve Kaden’s future fertility before chemotherapy begins

• Travel, meals, and extended hospital stays

• Uncovered medications, labs, and follow-up care

• Mental health support and comfort tools to ease the strain on Kaden and the family

Kaden is one of the most intelligent, sarcastic, and resilient souls you’ll ever meet. He’s fiercely loved by his blended family, and this has rocked all of us to the core—especially his mom Somaya and dad, Lyman, both veterans and dedicated mother and father of five who are doing everything possible to keep things afloat during this crisis.
