UPDATE: After a valiant 38 day fight Kade passed away on November 12th at 8:08pm completely surrounded by loved ones. His room was overflowing. After 2 weeks at Ogden Regional and a very short 1 week stay at home, he had an emergency transfer down to Huntsman Cancer Institute ICU where he fought the last 10 days of his life. Our hearts are shattered to live in a world without Kade. Please help us make one final push to reach our goal so we can take care of all medical expenses and give Kade the beautiful Celebration of Life he deserves.

In October of 2025, Kade was diagnosed with Stage 4 small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma which is a very aggressive and rare form of cancer. He spent two weeks at Ogden Regional after suffering a spinal fracture caused by lesions on his spine. During that procedure, biopsies revealed additional lesions on his lungs, liver, and pelvis, along with an enlarged prostate.

Kade responded well to his first round of chemotherapy during his hospital stay and was discharged home, where he made encouraging progress for a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, his health has recently declined, and he is now receiving intensive care at Huntsman Cancer Center. The medical team is currently focused on improving his liver function so that he can continue chemotherapy treatments.

Kade has been a firefighter since 2011 and joined Salt Lake City Fire in 2016, where he became a key member of Station 8’s truck crew. Beyond his dedication to service, Kade has been a mentor, teacher, and valued member of the training cadre for the department’s recruit school. He has helped countless firefighters stay strong and healthy through his work with the department’s fitness team. Kade’s leadership, integrity, and heart have made him an indispensable part of the Salt Lake City Fire Department family. He has received numerous awards recognizing his commitment and courage including a Medal of Courage in 2022 and a Distinguished Company Award in 2025.

As Kade and his loved ones navigate this challenging road, the financial burden of ongoing medical care and time away from work has grown significantly. If you feel moved to support Kade, any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. Donations will go directly toward his medical expenses, medical transportation, support services, nutritional support, recovery needs, and helping ease the load so he can focus on healing.

Above all, we ask for your continued prayers, love, and support for Kade as he fights with the same strength and determination that have defined his life and career.
