I’m writing on behalf of my dad, Marc, and his loyal K9 partner, Fury.

Fury proudly began his service in 2015 and retired in 2024 after an incredible career with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Detective Division / Narcotics Bureau Headquarters as a Narcotics Detection K9.

During his years of service, Fury alerted to and helped seize hundreds of pounds of narcotics and detected narcotic odors on hundreds of miscellaneous items containing tens of thousands of dollars in U.S. currency that were subsequently seized. He was trained and deployed to search buildings, vehicles, trains, planes, and cruise ships, conducted maritime interdictions, and was also assigned to parcel interdiction teams working at UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Fury assisted not only local law enforcement but also federal agencies, including the DEA and ATF.

To my dad, Fury was far more than just a working dog. He was his partner, protector, and family. Their bond, forged through years of service, trust, and dedication, is something truly special.

Recently, Fury faced a sudden and life-threatening medical emergency when he developed bloat, requiring emergency surgery. It’s been heartbreaking to see both my dad and Fury go through this. My dad has always been one of the strongest and most selfless people I know, a retired sheriff who spent his life protecting others, and now he’s doing everything he can to protect the partner who once protected so many.

This GoFundMe was created to help support Fury’s medical expenses and recovery care. After nearly a decade of service to his community, Fury deserves the chance to enjoy a healthy, comfortable retirement surrounded by the love of the family who adores him.
