Our dear friend K is moving into a new apartment and the conditions are terrible – currently, all 6 apartment windows are mold-ridden and a complete health hazard. Her landlord is the despicable Pinnacle company and they have been unresponsive to her requests for complete window replacement. Pinnacle has a reputation of ongoing disrepair and treating its tenants only as a money source. K is moving into her apartment in mid-October and wants to move into a livable apartment + one that will not be a hazard to her at-times-precarious health. So she is taking matters into her own hands.

K is planning on replacing the windows herself and taking it out of her rent in a process called Repair and Deduct (hyperlink). The problem is, this process requires upfront money to pay for the windows. In total, this will cost $4,000 for the service and materials. K is currently unemployed and looking for community support at this time as she works to both get back on her feet and give herself time to recover from recent health issues.
