Sadly, cancer has struck our family

Our beloved father, Juventino Paredes, has been diagnosed with inoperable tumors in his GI system. He has already begun chemotherapy and palliative care — not with the expectation of a cure, but with hope to extend and improve his quality of life during this time.

Tino is a man of deep faith, humility, and quiet strength. He has spent his life walking with God, caring for others, and leading his family with love, patience, and kindness. Even now, he faces this diagnosis with courage and grace, trusting in God’s plan.

Our parents just celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary — a partnership built on faith, love, and perseverance. Together, they brought our family to the United States when we were children, working tirelessly to build a modest but dignified life. They never sought luxury — only stability, faith, and opportunity. They always reminded us to follow God and walk the narrow path, even when it’s the harder road. His faith shaped our lives and continues to be our anchor.

Asking for help is not easy for our parents. They are self-sufficient and stoic — the kind of people who always find a way. But as their children, we are taking the liberty of reaching out to those who love them, and asking for both your prayers and your support.

The modest savings they have, along with what we can contribute as a family, will only stretch so far. We’re hoping to raise funds to cover medical costs, living expenses, medications, and daily needs — so they can walk through this harsh and difficult journey together without the heavy burden of financial stress.

Lamentablemente, el cáncer ha golpeado a nuestra familia.

Nuestro querido padre, Juventino Paredes, ha sido diagnosticado con tumores inoperables en su sistema gastrointestinal. Ya ha comenzado con quimioterapia y cuidados paliativos — no con la expectativa de una cura, sino con la esperanza de extender y mejorar su calidad de vida durante este tiempo.

Tino es un hombre de profunda fe, humildad y una fuerza tranquila. Ha pasado su vida caminando con Dios, sirviendo a los demás y guiando a su familia con amor, paciencia y ternura. Incluso ahora, enfrenta este diagnóstico con valentía y confianza en el plan de Dios.

Nuestros padres acaban de celebrar su aniversario #53, un matrimonio construido sobre la fe, el amor y la perseverancia. Trajeron a nuestra familia a los Estados Unidos cuando éramos niños, y trabajaron incansablemente para construir una vida modesta, pero llena de dignidad. Nunca buscaron lujos — solo estabilidad, fe y oportunidad. Nuestro padre siempre nos enseñó a seguir a Dios y caminar por el camino angosto, incluso cuando es el más difícil. Su fe formó nuestras vidas y sigue siendo nuestro ancla.

Nuestro mayor deseo en este momento es liberar el tiempo de nuestra madre, para que pueda dejar de trabajar y dedicarse por completo a cuidarlo y estar a su lado en cada paso de este proceso.

Pedir ayuda no es fácil para nuestros padres. Son personas autosuficientes y reservadas, siempre han enfrentado la vida con dignidad y fuerza. Pero como hijos, tomamos la iniciativa de compartir esta petición en su nombre, y pedimos humildemente tanto sus oraciones como su apoyo.

Los pocos ahorros que tienen, junto con la ayuda que podemos brindar como familia, se agotarán rápidamente. Buscamos reunir fondos para cubrir sus costos médicos, medicamentos y necesidades diarias — para que puedan transitar juntos esta dura y difícil jornada sin la carga del estrés financiero.
