Hi. My name is Jodi Martins. I am Justyne Snell’s auntie. The year 2025 is coming in like a lion for Justyne. She recently had a fall, which I’ll share detail shortly, but days prior to that also had some other medical issue that landed her in the ER twice. I’m setting up this Go Fund Me page to help her with all medical and rehab bills. Any amount is greatly appreciated. Here is her story written by Justyne herself.

Life has a funny way of throwing curveballs at us when we least expect it. For me, the past week has been a testament to that reality – and honestly, I think my clumsiness deserves its own sitcom. Picture this: there I was, living my best life, when suddenly I took a trip… down to the floor, all thanks to my dog’s favorite toy. Yes, folks, that notorious chew toy, designed to bring joy to my furBaby, became the infamous culprit of my accidental demise.
In what could only be described as an Olympic-level faceplant, I tripped and fell Spoiler alert: my patella didn’t stand a chance. One “whoops, there goes my dignity!” about an hour later, I found myself riding in an ambulance to Hutchinson ER. From there, it was off to St. Cloud Hospital, where the doctors performed emergency surgery Wednesday. To repair my patella rupture and tore patella ligament.
Now, fast forward to my new reality: I’ve become a member of the “Broken Leg Club.” Who knew that my journey would involve two surgeries, weeks away from home, and a crash course on how to walk again? Which is a lot less glamorous than it sounds. Meanwhile, Damu sits there, blissfully unaware, chewing on the very toy that led to my life-altering misadventure. I love him and miss him so much, even though he has no idea he turned me into an accidental stunt double. He only knows mama is not home!
Iv always been the reliable rock—fun-loving, hard-working, and resilient woman—asking for help during this time has been tougher than getting Damus toy out from under the couch. But hey, even strong people need a little support now and then, right? The financial burdens are piling up like laundry after a long week, and I’d like to be transparent about the ways in which your help could turn this story into something more uplifting.
The funds raised will go directly toward my medical bills, transportation for my second surgery to remove my external fixator, medical rides to and from facilities and appointments, and vital adaptations for my new "normal."—hello, handicap equipment and safety features! These changes will allow me to recover safely and comfortably and hopefully avoid being in a rehab facility for the whole 8weeks.
I genuinely appreciate any contribution, no matter how small. Every penny will help me leap (or, you know, hobble) closer to recovery and independence. Your support will not only lift the financial weight off my crutches but will also serve as a reminder that I’m not facing this challenge alone. I’m incredibly grateful for the love, encouragement, and support during this crazy process thus far!
Its much appreciated that you took the time to read my story. I appreciate your support as I navigate this unpredictable journey. Together, we can transform this series of painful scary life changing setbacks into a narrative of love happy tears and hardwork. Perhaps my next adventure will include fewer stumbles(ha) and much more enjoyment!
Thank you so very much
