During what we believe to be the late night of December 8th into the morning of December 9th, our family’s lives changed forever. My sister, Justise Rose, was traumatically injured. She was not taken to the hospital for medical care until the afternoon of December 11th and was immediately transferred to a trauma hospital. Once she received medical care, doctors discovered she had suffered a severe traumatic brain injury, a damaged carotid artery, fractured skull, fractured bones in her neck, and many bruises. On December 12th, Justise underwent emergency brain surgery. While the surgery was necessary, her recovery journey is just beginning. At this time, it is unknown what her future will look like, and there are many uncertainties ahead.

We do want to share that the alleged person responsible for harming Justise is currently in custody and is facing criminal charges. While we are grateful that steps have been taken toward justice, our focus right now is on Justise’s healing and recovery. Justise will need physical, occupational, and speech therapy to help her regain independence and work towards living as close to a normal life as possible. Justise is not only a fighter, she is also a loving mom to an 8-year-old son, who needs his mom more than ever during this incredibly difficult time.

We are asking for support to help cover medical bills and ongoing hospital care, rehabilitation and therapy expenses, living expenses while Justise is unable to work, and support for her son during her recovery.
