My name is Justin, and I’m reaching out for help during an incredibly challenging time for me and my family. Several years ago I was diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis. PSC is an autoimmune disease that destroys the liver’s bile ducts and causes liver failure. Unfortunately, there is no treatment or cure and this year my condition deteriorated to the point that I’ve been unable to work since March 2025. This has been difficult for me and my family, but fortunately we recently found a donor and have transplant surgery scheduled for January 2026.
I am incredibly fortunate to have a fellow USAF Veteran named Aaron who has selflessly volunteered to donate part of his liver to me. I want to ensure that his generosity does not come at a financial cost to him or his family. Your support will help reimburse his out-of-pocket expenses, cover his time off work, and provide for childcare while he is in the hospital and recovering. Any remaining proceeds will be used to offset my expenses such as travel, deductibles, and copays for the multitude of follow-on appointments and medications I will require next year. Fortunately the Department of Veterans Affairs will cover all direct medical costs for the actual surgery.
I am deeply grateful for any help you can offer. Your kindness will not only support my recovery but also allow me to show my family’s appreciation to Aaron and his family in a meaningful way. Thank you for considering a donation and for standing with us during this difficult time.
