Justin is a 44-year-old loving father of two who suffered an ischemic stroke on March 5th, 2025. The stroke affected his left side, which he went under extensive therapy to help get mobility back. Multiple CT scans uncovered that he has a very rare blood vessel disease in his brain called Moyamoya. Moyamoya is a rare, progressive cerebrovascular disorder where the main arteries supplying blood to the brain, the internal carotid arteries, narrow and become blocked, potentially leading to strokes. The brain compensates by developing a network of small, fragile blood vessels

He will be undergoing surgery called indirect cerebral bypass on July 10th. Surgery went as planned couple months will have angiogram in few months to determine if the brain has fused to the new vein. Although there is no cure for Moyamoya, this will help his brain receive the blood supply that it needs and help prevent future strokes. Over time, this disease will hinder his cognitive abilities, as there is no way to stop its progression. Due to his current situation, he is unable to work.

The bills are starting to pile up as he waits for the disability department to approve his case. Any donations are appreciated in this difficult time.
