Support Justin's Fight Against Brain Cancer
Donation protected
In 2014 Justin was diagnosed with a Grade 2 Diffuse Fibrillary Astrocytoma (a type of Glioma tumor). At that time, they were able to successfully take out a large portion of the tumor along with treatment and he went into remission after working tirelessly with St. Jude. Since that time, he has been under the care of a team ensuring that he gets consistent checks over the last decade and during that time, it was confirmed that things looked good. All of that changed in December of 2024 when it was confirmed that a shadow was not just a shadow and was indeed the start of new tumor growth. Because Justin has aged out of the care of St. Jude, we have been working with Vanderbilt Hospital to figure out the best plan of attack for the first phase of treatment.
Given the kind of tumor we are fighting, we know that we will have to travel for any potential surgeries and treatment. Not only that but as he can no longer be seen at St. Jude, this medical emergency will come out of his and his wife, Melissa’s pockets for whatever insurance does not cover (which will be a lot).
Though we are so grateful for the decade of good health, this has been a blow to him and his family. As most of you know, Justin is the sole provider for him and Melissa as Melissa was diagnosed with MS a decade ago and cannot work. This makes this diagnosis particularly challenging as there will be travel, lodging, etc needed.
Our goal is to allow them the ability to focus on his treatment and recovery in the facility the best fits their needs without the worry of financial burden. All donations will go directly to this goal in making them comfortable during this tough situation.
The family would also like to ask is that you continue to cover both him, Melissa, and the rest of the family in your prayers. Your support, love, and prayers are going to make all the difference in this fight, and that’s what this is- a big ole fight. We appreciate all of the support. Our tribe is a big one, and a strong one- your help, no matter how small, makes a difference.
