Support Justin Marks' Recovery
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Cortney Furman and I'm fundraising for my brother Justin Marks and his family. On July 6th, 2024, Justin was in an accident while camping with his family over 3 hours away from home. He was life flighted to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah, WI where the staff was able to perform lifesaving surgery. Justin coded 5 times and his injuries were extensive. His aorta was cut, and he had major internal bleeding. He broke his femur, foot, ankle, knee, almost all his ribs, both lungs collapsed, and he had a major head wound that required over 70 staples. He has spent 27 days at the hospital as of today, 19 of them in the ICU. He has had 10 different surgeries to repair internal and external damage. For him to be alive is a miracle that we will never take for granted. We are incredibly thankful to the life flight team and staff that worked tirelessly to save Justin's life. Justin has made tremendous progress since being released from the ICU and Friday August 2nd I drove up and brought my brother home!
It's important you know more about my brother and his family. Justin listens better than anyone I know, and he is the most unselfish person. He is the best dad to his kids Jordan (13) and Jacee (11). He is present everyday always playing sports, taking them on walks, and getting them to and from school. When the accident happened, we had to tell the neighbors and we learned from them "Justin cleans our gutters, he helps us mow, he shovels our driveway in the winter." While this was new news to us, we were not at all surprised because his giving is unlimited. During our own mother's health struggles, he's been the best son always helping with whatever is needed. Justin and his wife Jen work opposite shifts so one of them is able to always be with their kids. They have both worked at the same company for 18-plus years. They are both incredibly hard working and loyal individuals. Jen has been the rock during this time, and she has not left his side during his entire stay. She has taken care of Justin physically, mentally and emotionally and continues to be the best mother as well. My parents and I could never thank her enough for everything she has done.
With your support the funds will cover Justin's medical expenses, including the hospital stay, continued rehabilitation to aid in recovery, travel and hotel expenses and lost income for both Jen and Justin.
Thank you for your donation to this fundraiser and please share it to reach a wider audience to help support Justin and his family. Thanks again!
