Our family is reaching out during the hardest chapter of our lives. Justin Kimball, a loving husband and devoted father of five beautiful children, is now in hospice care after a devastating medical battle no young family should ever have to face.
This nightmare began on March 20, 2025, when Justin suffered what we believed to be a massive hemorrhagic stroke. Overnight, our world turned upside down. He was hospitalized for months, fighting through a slow but steady recovery. Even when progress was tough, he pushed forward with incredible determination — showing us all the strength he was known for.
After finally being discharged to a rehab facility, Justin’s symptoms suddenly worsened just one week later. He was rushed back to McLaren, where doctors performed an MRI that revealed the truth none of us were prepared to hear:
the stroke had been caused by a tumor.
On June 6, Justin underwent brain surgery for a biopsy and partial tumor removal. The diagnosis was confirmed — Glioblastoma, an aggressive, unforgiving brain cancer. Then, only weeks later, he needed a third surgery due to an infection and additional tumor growth.
Even with bad news following bad news, Justin refused to give up. He fought with everything in him.
He completed 30 rounds of proton therapy, hoping for a miracle. But shortly afterward, he began having severe seizures. Recently, we received the crushing news that the tumor is progressing again. It has now spread into the fourth ventricle of his brain, blocking spinal fluid and causing intense swelling, loss of function, and frequent, debilitating seizures.
Despite our desperate hope for more options, doctors have told us there are no further surgeries or treatments that can help. With unimaginable heartbreak, we made the decision to bring Justin home on hospice care — to keep him comfortable and surrounded by love during the time we have left.
This is absolutely not the outcome we prayed for. We have fought every step of this battle right alongside him. Our hearts are shattered beyond comprehension. Justin has shown extraordinary bravery, strength, and love through every moment of this horrible disease. We could not be more proud of him.
This GoFundMe has been created to help ease the enormous financial burden that has come with months of hospital stays, surgeries, treatments, loss of income, and now end-of-life care — all while raising five children who adore their dad more than anything.
If you are able to give, we are deeply grateful. If you cannot, please consider sharing Justin’s story. Your support, kindness, prayers, and love mean more than we can ever express.
With gratitude,
