Justice for Michael: Help Us Honor His Memory and Seek Accountability
On July 22nd, our world was shattered when 12-year-old Michael Kejuan Ramaun James Smith was tragically struck and killed by a driver speeding at 75 MPH on 83rd Street near Main Street in South Los Angeles. Michael was a bright and loving young boy, full of promise, whose life was taken far too soon. The driver fled the scene but was later apprehended—only to be released on bail, leaving us with more questions than answers.
Our communities are no strangers to the pain of losing a loved one due to reckless driving, but it is even harder to come to terms with when the person responsible is allowed to walk free so easily. Michael's family and friends are left grieving, trying to find justice in a system that often fails to protect the innocent.
Why We Need Your Help:
It’s about fighting for justice for Michael, demanding accountability, and sending a message that speeding drivers will no longer be allowed to destroy lives without facing consequences. The road to justice is long, but we are committed to honoring Michael’s memory, advocating for safer streets, and supporting his family as they navigate this unimaginable loss.
The funds raised will go toward:
- Community Action: We want to help raise awareness about the dangers of reckless driving in our community and advocate for better safety measures in our streets.
How You Can Help:
- Donate: Any amount, big or small, will make a difference and help support Michael's family during this incredibly difficult time.
- Share: Please share this campaign with your network to help spread the word and build momentum for change.
- Raise Your Voice: Together, we can push for justice and work toward safer streets for our children.
Michael may no longer be with us, but his story will live on in the fight for accountability. Let’s come together to ensure that his death wasn’t in vain and that no other family has to experience this same heartbreak.
Thank you for your support, your prayers, and your commitment to justice.
