As a lot of you may know my wife and I and her son Junior are in the middle of the immigration process. We're pretty deep into it, things are going along very well but we did just get a surprise invoice from the lawyer saying she needs 5,900 by August 21st. Which was a surprise because we were going to make monthly payments until the process was finished but it's going really fast, unexpectedly fast, which is a good thing! Even the lawyer was surprised it was going this fast but in the meantime we've been hit with some crazy curve balls, both of our jobs have really slowed down and I just went into some significant debt. Some of the recent surprises have been horribly tragic, some have been scary, and some have been a real blessing and so beautiful. I've sold off most of my instruments paying for this process already. I want to be clear, we're not destitute or desperate, we're nearing the end of the process but we are in a very concerning spot. And in these weird and uncertain times I don't want to find out what happens if we can't make our final payment to the lawyer.
