Sweet baby Junie is facing one of the toughest battles a little heart can endure.
Junie had open heart surgery on July 31 to repair her Tetralogy of Fallot, a congenital heart defect related to her 22q Deletion Syndrome. We were all so hopeful as she began recovering, but during her post-op appointment on August 20, doctors discovered a pseudoaneurysm where the hole had been patched. She was immediately admitted, and another surgery was scheduled for the very next day on August 21.
Praise God, the surgery was successful, and Junie is now in the cardiac intensive care unit for the next few days.
Caleb and Khayla are in Fort Worth staying at the hospital with Junie, while their oldest daughter Ember is being cared for elsewhere during this time. Being apart from Ember and away from home has been incredibly difficult. Doctors estimate Junie may need to stay inpatient for around two weeks, but there is a possibility they will need to remain in Fort Worth even longer depending on when the surgeon wants to see her for another post-op appointment. Her recovery time has also restarted with another six weeks ahead.
Caleb and Khayla have already used all of their paid time off during the first surgery, and this unexpected second surgery has added more time away from work and brought many unplanned expenses.
For those who have asked how to help, here are a few ways you can support them

No donation is too small. Whether it helps cover gas, meals, tolls, or other daily needs, every bit is deeply appreciated. But more than anything, they’re asking for your prayers. Prayers for strength, for healing, and for peace during this incredibly difficult time.
The McDonald’s would never ask for help themselves, but they are so grateful for the love and support that has surrounded them.
Please help share Junie’s story and lift this family up in prayers. We trust that God is holding them close and providing for every need.
