Support Juneta Key's Road to Recovery

Our beloved Juneta Key needs your help!

As many of you know Juneta is an author, Ninja Writers team member, and a story development coach. She's also become one of my closest and dearest friends. If you have had the chance to meet Juneta, you know she is the sweetest, most kind person. She is actively involved in several writing communities and goes out of her way to help any writer who asks, often at no charge.

She has been hospitalized for a week now due to low hemoglobin initially. She was weak and unable to stand and move on her own for several days at home and an ambulance was called.

Juneta is currently without health insurance and we believe she may not be eligible for Medicaid help. The hospital told her a decision is a month or more away.

Once in the hospital they ran tests and gave her blood to raise her hemoglobin. The tests discovered ulcers and diverticulitis as well as neuropathy in her feet which resulted in pressure wounds that had to be debrided and bandaged.

Juneta needs too go to a short term rehab facility prior to going back home to get her strong enough to be able to move around at home.

She will also need help with daily activities including meals and housekeeping tasks once she is home. We will of course connect her with any free services we can find if she is eligible.

This Go fund me is to raise funds for rehabilitative services, medical bills, prescriptions, monthly bills if needed, adaptive equipment, and any other help Juneta may need going forward so she can get stronger and healthier.

We need to move quickly, the hospital is already saying she will be discharged--she cannot even get into a vehicle on her own so she may require ambulance transport home.
