Many of you know June Collier as a gifted astrologer, mentor, and beloved teacher. For decades, she has given her time, wisdom, and compassion to thousands of students and clients. Today, June and her husband, Harry, are facing one of the hardest chapters of their lives, and we have the chance to give back to them in their time of need.
Last year, Harry was diagnosed with lung cancer. Despite surgery, immunotherapy, and chemotherapy, his strength has declined, the pain is excruciating, and the cancer is persisting, leaving him unable to care for their home and beloved animals, nor tend to his cherished dahlia garden, his pride and joy for so many years.
June, at 84, now carries the weight of caregiving while also facing her own serious health challenges, including upcoming eye surgery and multiple skin cancer surgeries.
Doctor visits mean long drives to Winston-Salem or Roanoke, often beginning before dawn. The daily demands of managing Harry’s care, their home, and their animals have simply become overwhelming.
Their greatest needs right now include:
-In-home caregiving and household support (laundry, cleaning, cooking, yardwork)
-Reliable transportation for frequent medical trips
-A safe and sufficient heating system for the winter
-just Relief from the mounting strain of doing it all alone
As June said recently, “Weeds have crawled up to the window, but the good news is a neighbor cut a path so I can hang our clothes on the line.” This simple moment captures the challenges they’re facing, and the resilience and gratitude they still carry.
Our goal is to raise $25,000 (we are starting with $13,000 to begin with) to lift some of this burden, bringing immediate relief and dignity back into their daily lives.
June and Harry both have birthdays in mid-September, June turns 85 on September 16th, and Harry just three days later. What greater gift could we offer them than the security of knowing their community has their back during this time?
If June has ever guided, inspired, or comforted you, please consider giving as generously as you can. And if you’re unable to give financially, please share this campaign widely. Every gesture of support matters.
With love and gratitude,
Kellie, June and Ann
