Abigail K. Garcia’s new play, 'Jumping Off Point', is accepted to LimeFest at The Tank—a yearly event dedicated to amplifying new work by emerging artists who identify as women, nonbinary, or gender non-conforming. Our team of eight is thrilled to be workshopping this dangerous and darkly funny one-act exploring the absurdity of life and the chronically online.

The Tank has selected to support this project with a generous venue agreement and our first hours of rehearsal time, but we need your help to push 'Jumping Off Point' over the finish line.

All funds raised will secure rehearsal space, cover prop and set piece needs, and compensate artists for their time, designs, and original compositions. Your donation champions the development of this new play and directly supports the artists staking their time and talent on creating exciting, original work in the city. Abigail K. Garcia is a Dominican, Venezuelan Lebanese actress and writer based in NYC. Her theatre credits include: The Receptionist (2nd Stage), Hamlet (Piedmont Shakes), OBIT play (The Tank) Film: CUPERTINO, THUMB, FEMCEL

DIRECTOR BIO

Vivian Farahani is a director based in New York. Raised in Düsseldorf and the Bay Area, her work spans theater, opera, audio, and film in the United States and across Europe. She makes work about the cracks of our reality, and how funny and sad it is to be alive. Recent directing credits include Lydia Riess' Going Away Party (IRT Theater), Gianna Hoffman's Obit Play (The Tank), Natalie Wright's Otolaryngology (Concord OOB Festival), and Drew Woodson's Four Sister's Waiting For An Exit (24 Hour Plays: Nationals). She has assisted for directors including Leigh Silverman (Vineyard Theatre WIP), GT Upchurch (Red Bull), and Simon McBurney (Festival D'Aix-en-Provence).
