My sister Juliana (Juli) lived in Colombia and worked for the government in a town affected by armed conflict. There, she received death threats and, although she requested help from the authorities, they could not guarantee her safety or that of her daughter and our mother. Therefore, they applied for her visa and decided to leave everything behind to travel a year and a half ago to San José, CA, United States, and seek political asylum to start a new life, safe and sound.

However, in May of this year, my sister had to face another difficult situation when she was diagnosed with cervical cancer. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment, but her physical and emotional state is not the same. She is a single mother of a 10-year-old girl and has not been able to return to work, so she now has many financial needs.

Let's help my sister so she can buy supplements and vitamins, cover her living expenses and those of her daughter, pay the rent, and get what she needs to recover soon and feel more at ease. Thank you very much for your help!

Mi hermana Juliana (Juli) vivía en Colombia y trabajaba para el gobierno en un pueblo afectado por el conflicto armado. Allí recibió amenazas de muerte y, aunque pidió ayuda a las autoridades, estas no garantizaban su seguridad ni la de su hija y nuestra madre. Por eso, solicitaron su visa y decidieron dejarlo todo para viajar hace un año y medio a San José, CA, Estados Unidos, y solicitar asilo político para iniciar una nueva vida, seguras y tranquilas.

Sin embargo, en mayo de este año, mi hermana tuvo que enfrentar otra difícil situación al ser diagnosticada con cáncer cervicouterino. Ella ya se encuentra en tratamiento de quimioterapia y radioterapia, pero su estado físico y emocional no son los mismos. Es madre soltera de una niña de 10 años y no ha podido volver a trabajar, por lo que ahora tiene muchas necesidades económicas.
