My name is Julio, and I never imagined I’d be in a position where I’d need to ask for help. In August of 2024, I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, and my heart is now only working at 20-25% of its capacity. This diagnosis has completely changed my life. I’ve always worked hard to support myself, but now my heart struggles to pump, and it has left me weak, making it difficult for me to work and limiting my capability to work. My disability claim is still being processed, and I have a court hearing coming up as I try to get the help I need.

The journey hasn’t been easy. I’ve had to start taking over six different medications, and my doctors have told me I need to follow a new, strict diet. The costs of these medications and the special foods I need have added up quickly, on top of my regular living expenses. Every day is a challenge, but I’m doing my best to stay hopeful and focus on my health.
