Support Juliet's Battle Against Lung Cancer

Donation protected
I am reaching out for help on behalf of my dear sister, Juliet. She was recently diagnosed with stage 1 lung adenocarcinoma a little over a month ago. The recent and future medical expenses have been and will continue to be a large burden for her and her family.

She had a total hip replacement this past summer after a failed hip arthroscopy. Unfortunately, this coincided with being unexpectedly laid off. Following this surgery, one of her post-op labs showed a possible clot, and she was told to go to the ER. They did not find a clot, but an incidental finding showed a 2 cm mass on her left lung. She is a lifetime nonsmoker, and they decided to get a lung biopsy via bronchoscopy. While recovering from her hip replacement surgery, she continued to seek new employment. Luckily, after 5 months of being unemployed, she was offered a job in inventory management for a veterinary group. On the same evening of getting a job offer, her virtual chart showed the unexpected results of lung adenocarcinoma. She found out that she had a genetic mutation and was later told had she not had the CT scan looking for a clot, as she was asymptomatic, this aggressive cancer would have likely been fatal if found in later stages. She has undergone additional testing, including a brain MRI, PET scan, and lung function tests.

She has been told she will need to have an upper left lung lobectomy (remove one of 2 lobes), including some lymph node removal, and this is scheduled at the end of October. Depending on what they find during this surgery, she may need to receive IV chemotherapy and oral chemotherapy for 3 years. After being out of work for 5 months and out of pocket expenses of her hip surgery, multiple medical procedures, and tests, she has paid over $9,000 in medical bills. She also expects future medical expenses, including lobectomy surgery and possible chemotherapy. Unfortunately, her benefits from her new job won't go into effect for 3 months, and she will need to be off work for at least a week. As many of her friends and family have asked how they can help, I wanted to create a GoFundMe to help her and her family through this difficult time. Any donation, no matter how small, would make a significant impact.

Please consider donating to this beautiful soul who is always there for others in their time of need. She is a giver by nature and hates asking for help. All funds will go directly to her.

Thank you for helping her in this time of need.
