Hello! My name is Sheryl Norris and Julie Miller is one of my closest friends. Anyone that knows Julie, knows she is one of the kindest, most giving people....always thinking of others before herself. On April 25th of this year, Julie fell at home, hit her head on the wall and unfortunately sustained a horrific spinal cord injury breaking her neck and leaving her paralyzed from the shoulders down. After a long surgery repairing what could be repaired with her neck, she has remained in rehab for the past 3 months working diligently to regain movement in her paralyzed areas. Julie has come a long way but is still not able to do many of the things she previously could. This includes feeding, bathing, standing, or walking.
Because of her impairments, there are many adjustments that need to be made once she returns home which will be August 8th. Although we are very happy Julie is returning home, it presents many challenges along the way. Her husband, Dawson is making all the necessary changes to their home to make it easier and accessible for Julie. There are many occurring costs...not only medical/hospital costs, but the Go Fund Me account is being set up to help buy Julie a wheelchair accessible van. This is necessary so she can get to all her scheduled upcoming rehab and doctor's appointments. They have recently sold her Highlander and are in the process of buying her a used van which is modified for wheelchair use. Any amount would be most helpful, and I know Julie and her family would appreciate anything that can be given. We continue to lift Julie and her family up in our prayers, and I will keep the page updated on her progress. Thank you in advance for your prayers and thoughts for Julie!
