I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out today with a humble request for help as I navigate a challenging and life-altering journey. My name is Julie Thompson, and I’ve recently been diagnosed with medullary thyroid cancer due to a rare genetic mutation known as the RET gene mutation. This mutation has led to the development of a condition called MEN2A, which affects the thyroid and can lead to various complications, including cancer.

On February 10th, I will be undergoing a thyroidectomy to remove my thyroid and help manage the cancer. While I am grateful for the medical team and the support from my loved ones, I am facing significant financial challenges. The surgery will require both specialized care and travel to the Cleveland Clinic, a renowned medical center equipped to handle my condition, which involves additional costs for travel, lodging, and the medical procedures themselves.

As many of you know, my husband, Stephen Thompson, is my rock. He works tirelessly to support our family, but even with his dedication, the financial strain of this unexpected medical journey is overwhelming. We have three beautiful children who are depending on us, and we are trying our best to stay strong for them, but the reality is that the road ahead will be difficult—both emotionally and financially.

This surgery is crucial for my health, and I’m hopeful that it will allow me to fight this cancer and provide me with a chance to be there for my family for many years to come. However, the costs associated with the procedure and travel to Cleveland Clinic are more than we can afford on our own. That’s why I am turning to the kindness of others, hoping to raise enough funds to cover medical expenses, travel, lodging, and recovery costs.
