Hi friends,
Late last year, our beautiful mum, Julie Williams, received the news that she had been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. At the time, it was a less aggressive form, and under the guidance of her haematologist, she began a “watch and wait” regime with three-monthly checkups.
Unfortunately, the disease has since progressed into a more aggressive form, and today she began a 24-week course of chemotherapy. The Haematologist has indicated the prognosis following treatment is extremely good and we are believing this to be the outcome on the other side. As many of you know, chemo is a physically demanding journey - it will greatly impact her immune system and make everyday interactions risky. This means Julie will not be able to work during this time, and her usual, much-loved time with church family, friends, her children and grandkids will be limited.
This separation, especially from the people she loves most, will be incredibly difficult for someone as people-focused and relational as Julie. She has always poured herself out for others - through ministry, missions and decades of faithful service both locally and around the world.
Now, it’s our turn to show up for her!
We are raising funds to support both Bruce & Julie through this season - to help cover the cost of treatments, supplement their lost income, and allow Julie to focus entirely on her healing without financial stress.
More than anything, we ask for your prayers. Please pray for Julie that the treatment will be totally effective and that any side effects are minimised. Bruce & Julie, along with us all, are full of faith and holding onto hope in God as we walk this road. We believe in the power of prayer and in a God who heals, comforts, and provides.
Thank you for your love, support, and generosity. Julie will be updating everyone on her progress throughout treatment via this GoFundMe page so check back to keep in the loop.
We know Bruce & Julie will be deeply touched by every act of kindness and encouragement.
With love,
Michael & Sarah, Emma & Jon and Simon & Georga
