My name is Jackie Russell, and I am the sister of Julienne Russell, who has been living with type 2 diabetes for 26 years. Her most recent health concerns include glaucoma, cataracts, and a hole in her left eye that causes edema (fluid) to seep in, leading to swelling.

This swelling is putting pressure on her retina, resulting in loss of vision in her left eye. She has been diagnosed with retinal detachment and urgently needs surgery to prevent permanent blindness.
