My mom, Julie Walker, was diagnosed with terminal cancer shortly after I graduated from high school in the spring of 2024. In 2022 she was diagnosed with colorectal cancer, and after radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery, she beat it. Unfortunately, about a year later nodules were found on her lungs, which was determined to be a metastasis. When she found out, she was given an estimated 3-5 years left to live. She has been doing chemotherapy and immunotherapy; however, she has had to pause her treatments for multiple surgeries since then, from problems that have occurred from complications. She will have to continue treatment for the rest of her life, changing the type of treatment as it stops working. She has plans to hopefully visit MD Anderson in Texas to get a better opinion and find the best treatment plan possible for her situation. Due to MD Anderson being out of network for insurance, it is expected to be very costly. Between that and the immense medical bills from treatment, procedures, and appointments in our area, the medical expenses have been an extra stress to my mom’s living situation. We would love for her to have the ability to stress less about the medical expenses and put more focus on living life and getting treatment. All funds donated will be used to allow my mom to do just that. Anything and everything is greatly appreciated, whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this with your friends and family.
