Hello, my name is Ashley Peck. I am starting this GoFundMe to help raise money for my mom, Julie Peck.

In March 2025, she took the grandkids to the skate park, and after having the crazy idea of "showing them how it's done," she fell off the skateboard while going down the half pipe! My immediate thought was, "What in the world are you thinking?!" Her answer: "Just having fun." Her fall resulted in an ER visit a week later because she couldn't get the pain in her hip to subside. What I was sure was a broken hip turned out to be a 4 cm tumor wrapped around her iliac bone in her left hip. After a weekend in the hospital and several tests, it was determined that she has Stage 4 Lung Cancer in both lungs, and it has metastasized to her hip bone and mediastinum thyroid.

In the midst of beginning her treatments, her insurance dropped her effective June 30, 2025. We have tried all options to no avail, and she is still without any type of coverage. We are told that she can qualify for Medicare Part B but not until open enrollment in October with an effective date of January 1, 2026.

So, that brings me here. I am trying to find a way to help pay for any and all medical costs and day-to-day expenses. She is retired and only receives SSI. My sister and I have helped where we can, but I am afraid it isn't enough.

I understand that everyone is struggling in their own way, but if you are able and can help us help her, it would mean the world. I put off making something like this for a lot of reasons, but it is truly my last resort.
