My name is Dylan, and I’m creating this GoFundMe for my Mom, Julie Hudson, who was recently diagnosed with colon cancer.
Her reach is significant, and we know there are so many people who want to help but don’t know how they can. She is reluctant in accepting help, but always the first to offer. She has focused on helping others, and putting everyone else’s needs ahead of her own for many years. From her short film ‘Silence’, working as a CNA in an assisted living facility, to volunteering at the open door mission religiously, everything she does is for the benefit of others.
This diagnosis has shaken her life up more than any of us could imagine. Throughout this process she is standing strong in her faith in God. One of my mom’s favorite Bible verses is Jeremiah 29:11:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,
“plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.”
In the midst of fear and uncertainty, this verse has become an anchor. We trust that God is still sovereign, still faithful, and still working—even when the road ahead feels overwhelming.
Thankfully her current job is allowing her to retain health insurance coverage. But as we know insurance doesn’t cover everything. Between hospital visits, chemotherapy, medications, travel to appointments, and everyday living expenses, the costs will be significant. We are asking for help so she can focus fully on fighting this disease and resting in God’s peace, rather than worrying about making ends meet.
More than anything, we ask for prayers—for healing, strength, comfort, and peace that only God can provide. We believe in the power of prayer and in a God who gives hope, even in the hardest seasons.
If you feel led to give, any amount would be a blessing. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser and lifting my Mom and our family up in prayer.
Thank you for being part of our support system and for showing Christ-like love during this difficult time. We are deeply grateful. Will post updates as permitted. As well as will update with a link to order t-shirts and bracelets if necessary.
100% of donations to this GoFundMe will go to Julie.
With love and gratitude,
Dylan
