Support Julie Buser's Burn Recovery Journey

My friend Julie Buser suffered 2nd-degree burns from an accident making scented candles. She has been out of work for almost 2 weeks and will not be able to return to work until she recovers from surgery, which is scheduled for 2/17. Working for a family business, she unfortunately is not covered by insurance. She lives alone, as her sons are both grown and recently moved out on their own.

This incident started with a trip to the Emergency Room, followed by an appointment with Doctors Hospital Burn & Wound Center the following morning. Julie was put under anesthesia so the wounds on her hand, thighs, and foot were scraped and scrubbed, then covered in cadaver skin and bandaged. She’s returned for an appointment to check the status of the wounds and schedule her surgery for next Monday where the cadaver skin will be removed and two main areas of concern will be evaluated to determine if a skin graft is required for healing. She has medications which her parents picked up and paid for.

After she expressed sincere gratitude that 2 of her friends reached out and asked how they can send her a financial gift to assist her, I thought it would be most helpful to set up a fund where anyone who may be in a position to help could offer their support. All funds raised will support Julie through paying her regular monthly bills and applying towards the cost of her medical bills. We are immediately looking to cover her monthly expenses. Every single dollar raised will make it that much easier for her healing without additional stress.
