Hi friends,

We’re two of Julie Buckner’s closest friends, and we are reaching out to make sure she is supported through a very real and very difficult moment.

After experiencing persistent discomfort, Julie scheduled a long-overdue screening. Further testing confirmed breast cancer. The outlook is positive and considered treatable, but the path ahead involves surgery and additional treatment over the coming weeks.

Unfortunately, her current insurance situation made securing immediate care impossible. In order to qualify for coverage, Julie was forced to step away from her full-time job and temporarily cap her income, an incredibly unfair and counterintuitive position to be in while facing something like this.

In typical Julie fashion, asking for help does not come easily. She is the one everyone else leans on. But right now, the priority is allowing her to focus on healing, not worrying about her mortgage, utilities, groceries, or the basic expenses of daily life while she prepares for surgery and recovery.

Julie is surrounded by love, and she’s facing this with her trademark grit, humor, and grace. Her greatest concern is maintaining stability for her son and holding on to normalcy in the midst of uncertainty. Our goal is to remove as much stress as possible so she can focus on getting healthy and coming out the other side stronger.
