Help Julie and Gwendolyn Heal

Hello, my name is Julie. I’m a single mother of a beautiful 6-year-old girl, Gwendolyn. As hard as this is to admit… we need help.

In March, while on a mental health leave of absence from work due to the conditions at home, I separated from the father of my daughter. The relationship was detrimental to not only my own mental health but to my 6-year-old daughter as well. My daughter, Gwendolyn, is my entire world. I made the very difficult decision to split our family apart in hopes of being able to heal trauma, for both myself and for Gwendolyn.

The separation has left me severely in debt due to moving expenses, finding new housing for my now family of two, and the lack of payment during my leave of absence. I never in a million years thought this would be where I am now, creating this fundraiser. Currently, I am heavily overdrawn from my bank account, zero savings left, one month behind on rent (and actively accruing more late fees), unable to take out a loan (used a title loan to afford to move), unable to pay for bills (power, gas, internet, credit card, loan payment, etc.), medication (for my anxiety, depression, and PTSD as well as Gwendolyn’s ADHD), and I am struggling for groceries each week.

I have been working unpaid for the last three weeks. Due to the leave of absence, my work status is not updated and I am not earning any income while I am actively working.

I will not get paid until the end of June and by then, it will be too late. I will not have enough for rent plus the late fees alone, much less any other bills and groceries.

I am humbly asking from a place of absolute desperation for help getting back on my feet. Anyone who knows me in person will recognize the amount of strength and courage it has taken to get out of the situation I was in and to now ask for help. I unfortunately do not have any living family to reach out to for support and I am unable to receive any form of government assistance due to my employer.

As difficult as this is in this current moment, I know in my heart that our story is not over, we can make it through the storm and things will get better. We just need a little help.
