Support Julie,Garrett & Raelynn
I'm writing and asking for any type of support for my son Garrett, his Fiancé Julie and their beautiful preemie Raelynn. December 14th was a normal day. Garrett got off work, came home took a nap then both were off to Julie's pre-natal appointment. I received a call a little later from Garrett that Julie needed to be admitted due to high blood pressure. After a 2 day stay, now December 16th, Julie's blood pressure was not improving and her lab results were coming back leaning towards Pre-eclampsia. Another couple hours later and more labs, she took a turn no one was expecting. Julie started to become very ill, confused and complaining of abdominal pain, blood pressure rapidly rising. OB and amazing nurses decided to do an emergency Cesarean section. Everyone was in shock and praying for both Julie and their unborn 35 week daughter. After c-section Julie did not progress as thought should happen. She was transferred to the ICU and their daughter Raelynn went to the NICU. My son Garrett and our entire family were completely torn between both ICU units. Julie was diagnosed with HELLP SYNDROME level 1. The worst diagnosis possible for a newly delivered mother. Julie has been in the ICU since very early morning on December 17th. She has suffered much and is still fighting to get to be the mother she has dreamt of being. She currently is on Dialysis, plasmaphoresis, numerous medications and was recently diagnosed with a secondary infection of C.diff. which in her already weakend state is taking its toll. My son Garrett did not leave the hospital and stayed going between both ICU units. Raelynn had a small but normal set back in the NICU and was treated by an amazing medical team. She has improved and was finally discharged on December 30th. Garrett has not gone back to work as he is now trying his hardest to be at the hospital and home to care for BOTH of his girls. This holiday season was rough. We are a strong family but we are in need of your support to continue to be able to support Julie, Raelynn and Garrett. Any and all funds raised are only going to continue to help this new family stay supported and to help not worry about bills, costs of formula, clothes, diapers and anything else we need for them. We can not thank each of you enough for any type of support you can give.
