Julie is not only my coworker, but also a dear friend who has always been there for others. Recently, her life changed in an instant when she was in a major car accident on her way to work. The accident left her with a broken back and she had to undergo major spinal surgery. Now, Julie faces a long and challenging road to recovery and will be out of work for a minimum of 12 weeks as she heals.

Julie has dedicated many years to Fresenius Medical Care as a Dialysis Technician, caring for patients with compassion and skill. In December 2025, she briefly took a position at another place of employment, but soon realized the change wasn’t right for her and her family. She returned to her job at Fresenius, but because of the short lapse in employment, her PTO, and sick time were canceled. This means Julie has no safety net to help cover her lost wages or expenses during her recovery. On top of everything, Julie is the mother of twin teenage boys who rely on her every day.

As Julie focuses on healing from her surgery, she is unable to work and is facing mounting bills, daily expenses, and the uncertainty of how to cover essentials for herself and her sons. The financial strain is overwhelming, and I want to do everything I can to help ease her burden during this difficult time.
