Support Julian's Battle Against Cancer
Donation protected
Julian Wahlberg, at the early age of 34 was diagnosed with stomach cancer in late March as a result of a rare, genetic gene; CDH1. This crushing blow comes only 2.5 years after Julian lost his dad, Doug Wahlberg, to the same cancer.
After many procedures and tests, in an effort to eradicate the cancer, the team at Smilow Hospital at Yale is proposing a full gastrectomy. A serious surgical procedure that will result in an extended hospital stay followed by months of recovery. In lieu of the ongoing procedures and testing, he has not been able to work and will be unable to work for the remainder of the year following the surgery.
Julian, myself and his family remain hopeful in this uncertain and often confusing time. His spirits continue to be high as he had even proposed to me, his partner for nearly five years, on our favorite beach shortly after his diagnosis. It was there we made a promise of eternal encouragement and love for one another.
During this time, Julian needs tremendous support, both emotionally and financially if possible. We are asking our friends, family and community music scene that Julian is a member of, to help get through this financial hardship. This added help will not only assist him on this lengthy road to stability but will also enable him to concentrate on his health.
There is no donation too small, every bit of assistance is a message saying "you are loved and cared for". Sharing this campaign, so that we may reach as many supporters as possible is additionally helpful and deeply appreciated.
Our family will do our best to continue to keep everyone updated regarding his progress.
All our wholehearted gratitude,
Tessa
