Juliana Briceño Navas is the beloved daughter of Laura and Guillermo, who are close friends of my family from San Jose, Costa Rica. From the moment Juliana was born, she has shown extraordinary strength and resilience. She entered the world with a congenital heart condition that requires open-heart surgery, as well as a giant omphalocele—a serious condition that demanded immediate and ongoing medical care from her very first days of life.

In the coming weeks, Juliana is scheduled to undergo life-saving heart surgery at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. This procedure is essential for her heart to function properly and for her to continue healing and growing. Despite everything she has faced, Juliana is a calm, gentle baby whose quiet strength inspires everyone around her. As her parents, Laura and Guillermo’s greatest wish is to see her grow up healthy and free from the limitations these conditions have placed on her early life.
