Support the Commemoration of the Selma Marches Documentary
Hello! My name is Julian Rozzell, and I am an actor, artist, and writer based in Brooklyn, NY. I am thrilled to share that I am currently collaborating with the talented French documentarian Jean-Jacques Cunnac to produce a 50-minute documentary commissioned by France 2, the largest public television network in France. We will be filming in Selma for three weeks. This documentary commemorates the 60th Anniversary of the Selma Marches and aims to honor this pivotal moment in our history.
With interviews secured with notable figures from that historic period, including Thelma Diane Harris, Charles Maudlin, and Joyce Parish O’Neal, we will be conducting these interviews in early March. Our documentary seeks to not only archive this significant event but also to provide insight into American life six decades later. We will explore pressing questions such as: Is non-violence still a viable solution in today’s political climate? Where do today's youth stand in relation to the sacrifices made by our ancestors?
To help bring this important project to life, we are seeking to raise an additional $800 to cover food and ancillary costs associated with production. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help us in our mission and is greatly appreciated! Additionally, every donor will receive a heartfelt "Thank You" credited on our project.
Together, we can ensure this important chapter of history is preserved and examined for generations to come. Thank you for considering supporting this journey!
