Support Julian in His Fight Against JNA
Donation protected

Dear Friends and Family,
I am starting this GoFundMe for my pseudo-nephew Julian, who is 14 years old.
We recently received the confirmation we hoped we would never hear: Julian has Juvenile Nasopharyngeal Angiofibroma (JNA). This incredibly rare, benign vascular tumor, which appears in the nasal cavity, affects only 0.05% of the population. In Julian’s case, it is the largest tumor the doctors have ever seen.
His surgery will be extraordinarily complex, involving a multidisciplinary team of specialists, including plastic surgeons, dentists, brain surgeons, face and skull surgeons, ENT specialists, oncologists, and pathologists. Additional experts are being brought in from LSU, and efforts are being made to have a top surgeon from the university assist as well.
Given the rarity and complexity of Julian's condition, the surgery will take place in a large OR with a high-capacity viewing area for students, as this case is something many doctors may never see again in their careers. The tumor is pressing against his brain and carotid artery, causing significant concern.
The surgery, expected to occur within the next month, will be extremely invasive, potentially involving the removal of part or even the entire left side of Julian's face. The operation will last around 8-12 hours and require a comprehensive team including neck and face surgeons, brain surgeons, plastic surgeons, optometrists, hematologists, dentists, ENT specialists, oncologists, pathologists, and general surgeons.
Julian’s mom will need to be out of work for at least two weeks without pay, and her insurance does not cover out-of-state procedures. This leaves them facing substantial self-pay expenses.
We are reaching out to you, our community, for support. Any contribution you can make will help cover medical expenses, travel costs, and the loss of income during this critical time. Your generosity will make a tremendous difference and help ease the financial burden on their family.
Please keep Julian and his family in your prayers as they navigate this challenging journey. Thank you for your kindness and support. We will keep you updated on Julian’s progress.
With gratitude,
