Hi, my name is Julia Linthicum. I currently live in Baltimore MD. I'm unemployed, just lost health insurance and facing three months of recovery for a back injury. Ideally I'd like to raise enough to get me back on my feet while healing and looking for a job. Maybe I can tackle some of my debt eventually, but I'm in survival mode right now.

On Saturday November 2nd, 2025, I was walking over to my favorite stationery story for an event, when I took the turn at Center and Paul and wiped out. A kind bystander stayed with me while they called the ambulance. Two days at Mercy Medical and I was diagnosed with a compression burst fracture of my L3 vertebrae. Because of my health insurance ended on Oct 31st, I was not covered. Even my rehab options have been limited. I can't even afford the medications they're offering.

All I know is I can't survive three months of this. Without a job, I can't afford anything, nor will anyone offer a loan, although my credit is fairly good.

Everyone hits their limits. I've finally hit mine. There's a saying about how a body will decide for you when it's done. Mine decided to scream at me.
