Support Julia Lee's Fight for Health

Donation protected
Hi, I’m Carly Gilchrist Smothers. I’m raising money on behalf of the Lee family. Please pray for Julia and Anthony Lee!!

Update: March 29- Yesterday 3/28, Julia was placed on an ECMO machine to help her lungs 100% relax. Initially she did have some bleeding from the site but it has since resolved. She did receive some plasma and other blood products to help with the blood loss. Due to low kidney function, she was started on dialysis last night.
Today was a day of progress. She is less swollen. Her kidney function improved and her kidneys are now working properly but she will continue dialysis to give them a rest. She is responding to ECMO well. They were able to completely remove the blood pressure support meds that was stabilizing her low blood pressure. This is huge. They are turning down her sedation some. Her lactic acid was 5 yesterday and today is down to 0 which is great news. They are starting some tube feedings at a slow rate and will increase as she gets better. Overall today was small but still significant improvements. This will be a marathon and they will take each day at a time. Please keep praying.

Update: March 28th- Julia is being placed on an ECMO machine to help her lungs rest. This machine will work as her lungs, pumping blood out, oxygenating it and removing carbon dioxide. It will then send the oxygenated blood back into her body. This is an intensive procedure. Please continue to pray hard.

Julia has been battling current diagnosis of cystic fibrosis, gastroparesis, and diabetes. She was in Rapides hospital from March 1st- 13th then was transported to a higher level of care to a New Orleans hospital. She stayed in a regular room the first night but her health declined and on March 14th, she was transferred to the ICU and placed on a ventilator and antibiotics. Her current condition is due to pneumonia and other complications with cystic fibrosis. She is still currently in the ICU on a vent, 4 hours away from home. Her husband, Anthony, has been traveling to her and back home for work. The ICU currently doesn’t allow any overnight visitors and family must obtain a hotel room.

Any donations to help the Lee family would be greatly appreciated to help offset the costs of traveling, food, and hotel stays in New Orleans. If unable to donate, please keep them in your prayers!
