Hi, my name is Jazmin, and I am a 19-year-old college freshman raising funds for my mom, Judy, who was recently diagnosed with stage 4B endometrial cancer. I am currently facing this journey alone with no financial support, and any help would mean more than I can put into words.

A few weeks ago, my mom went to the emergency room with severe pain, weakness, and dizziness. What doctors discovered completely turned our lives upside down. For months, she had been losing blood abnormally, which caused extreme weakness. When she arrived at the hospital, her hemoglobin level was only 2.7 units, so low that nurses were shocked she was still able to stand or walk. For reference, the average woman has around 12 units. She immediately received 9 units of blood just to reach the minimum safe level of 7. Doctors then found multiple masses throughout her body and a very large tumor in her endometrium. Due to its size and how it has wrapped around surrounding organs, it cannot be surgically removed and is also affecting her kidney function.

She has begun radiation to help shrink the tumor, reduce bleeding, and slow its growth, and she has been referred to chemotherapy to fight the spread of cancer. We have also been looking into alternative treatment options and second opinions, all of which are incredibly expensive.

My mom has always been my biggest supporter. With her love and guidance, I earned my AA summa cum laude before graduating high school, received a full-ride scholarship to a top private university, and became a 5-time U.S. Figure Skating gold medalist and certified coach. She is also one of the most selfless people I know, always volunteering and helping others, even the day before her ER visit when she was barely able to walk. Seeing how much this illness has affected her has been terrifying.

I want to be able to help my mom have the best chance at a quality life because she has given up so much of hers to be able to give me all the opportunities she has. Any help with the expenses is greatly appreciated and every dollar will be put towards helping my mom have the opportunity to continue watching me grow.

Although I am 19 years old and not considered a "kid" to most, I will always be my mom's child and will always need her in my life no matter how old I may be. I want to be able to have her watch me graduate college and be alongside me for the big milestones in my life. She has done so much to be able to give me the life I have today and now it's my turn to find a way to give her the best fighting chance at a continued life.
