My name is Judy, and I am a 35-year-old Black woman who was recently diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive cancer. This journey began with over 30 days in the hospital this summer, undergoing endless tests, procedures, and eventually surgery. I wasn’t given a final diagnosis until late August, and by then the physical, emotional, and financial toll had already become overwhelming.
Since coming home, I have been working hard to rebuild my strength — attending physical therapy, following a demanding treatment plan, and doing my best to navigate daily life while still needing to work to stay afloat. Healing while trying to maintain my responsibilities has been incredibly challenging.
Even with insurance, I’m responsible for significant out-of-pocket medical expenses, including treatments, medications, and travel for specialty care. I am also trying to keep up with my housing costs and pay for the in-home support I need for cooking, cleaning, and basic daily tasks — support I was told could take a year or more to qualify for through assistance programs, even though I need it now.
But through all of this, my faith has remained my anchor. I truly believe that God has blessed me and continues to bless me, even in the middle of this storm. I believe that healing is on the way, that I will overcome this diagnosis, and that God is placing the right people, resources, and support in my life exactly when I need it.
This GoFundMe will help cover:
• Out-of-pocket medical bills
• Travel and lodging for treatment
• Housing and essential monthly expenses
• In-home support for cooking, cleaning, and daily tasks
• Basic necessities while I focus on healing
I trust that God will carry me through this chapter, but I also know we are not meant to walk these battles alone. Your support — whether through donating, sharing this page, or keeping me in your prayers — means more than I can express. Your love and kindness help lift the weight from my shoulders so I can focus on healing and restoring my strength.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and thank you for walking with me during this journey.
With love and faith,
Judy
