My name is Linda Mireles. My sister is Judy Horner. Monday April 14 Judy went to walk in clinic thinking she had a respiratory infection but was sent to ER. Apparently she had a heart attack. She had a heart catheter procedure but ended up needing a quadruple bypass plu mitral valve replacement. And infection so bad in body needed a below the knee amputation. 4 months later. She has been in and out of rehab. And in and out of hospitals because her wounds just won’t heal. And she’s got a lot of other heart issues now, so please keep praying for her and keep donating because she has a lot of bills that we have to pay for.Update 9/3.
This is Judy. First and foremost I want to say a huge thank you to all who have donated and prayed for me!
It’s been a journey to say the least.
The end of June it was discovered that the original heart surgery site had an infection that had to be debrided. Fortunately that infection wasn’t down to the bone!
A week later I returned to rehab and things were progressing nicely with the actual casting of my prosthetic leg taking place. Therapy was going good and I was standing at the parallel bars for several minutes and even using a hands free crutch and a walker to relearn how to walk.
On Aug 27 I began vomiting and then passed out. They called an ambulance and I was diagnosed at the er with a continuing infection plus a touch of pneumonia along with congestive heart failure and afib.
So thankfully no more surgeries for now, but more long term I.v. Antibiotics. Possibly need to receive a pacemaker in the future.
Again, my heartfelt gratitude to all of you!

when the doctor tried to insert stints they pierced her artery. Thus they ended up repairing it and inserting coils.
Then Thursday April 17 she had surgery to remove the last 3 toes on her right foot due to infection.
Then they found out she needed a mitral valve replacement. Then the infection became septic and infected her heart.
Long story she had a twelve hour procedure Thursday April 24 including mitral valve replaced and a quadruple bypass. She also had a hole in her heart they had to repair.
She had infection in heart from foot infection going septic. She is still on ventilator. She has a pump that is going to filter her blood and another one going into heart chamber to help drain infection.
It will take her 3-6 months to recover and up to a year to return to work if at all. They are going to help get disability and eventually medicaid.
She may need a feeding tube and possibly a trache.
She is stable and they are hoping to keep her that way.
***UPDATES!!!( as of April 30th)***
The Drs have slowly backed off sedation medications and Judy has been awake and semi alert since Monday. Today, April 30th she had the ventilator removed and was able to talk ever so slightly. Unfortunately her fever, high blood pressure, and Heart rate are all still elevated due to infection still coarsing through her body. She is still pretty disoriented from all the heavy sedatives and medications but is alert and somewhat aware of her surroundings.
This will be a long hard road to recovery.
She will need help with medical expenses and every day bills.. rent, utilities etc since she will be out of work for so long.
First we are asking for your prayers and if you would consider helping her out with a donation. Any amount will be appreciated.
Thank you!!!
update5/8
First of all, thank you to everyone who has prayed! Thank you to everyone who has donated! And thank you to everyone who has shared!
Just want to give an update on my sister‘s condition. She has two steps forward one step back. But she is making baby steps in the right direction. She will probably be in the hospital for at least two weeks up to three months and then go to rehab for at least another two or three months. She won’t be able to go back to work until at least a year if at all. We are going to try to get her on Medicaid and disability, but that takes a long time. In the meantime, she needs help with her bills. So if you can, please keep praying and keep sharing and keep donating whatever amount you can. Everything is appreciated and will be used accordingly. We have already paid over $2000 worth of bills for her and that’s not even including the medical bills that’s being racked up now. She will need money to sustain her for the next six months at least. Please please please please continue to share and continue to pray and if it all possible donate. After everything is paid and done, I promise every penny that is not needed will go to either Saint Jude‘s , Shriner’s hospital or Ronald McDonald house. You know all of those donate everything to the needy people. Saint Jude to children cancer patients, Shriner’s to pay for chronically ill or disabled children (I personally have a great nephew that they have paid for multiple surgeries!!!) and Ronald McDonald house for families to stay for free for their kids to get medical care and help with the hospital bill. These are all reputable charities and I promise I will donate everything that Judy does not need to them, but we have to see what Judy needs before we can donate to them.
Judy has taken a turn for the worse. She is back on ventilator, has pneumonia in upper right lung and had to be charged twice with AED today to get her heart back to regular rhythm.
Please pray for her.
