Help Judy, Erin and Jana after David’s passing
On May 20, 2021 my brother in law David Walker passed away unexpectedly from complications of diabetes. He was 64 years old. His passing has caused great sadness to his wife, Judy Firestone and young adult children Erin and Jana Walker. David was disabled for many years, enduring dialysis 3 times weekly. My sister Judy is also fully disable from MS. Because of this they have no financial resources. Judy is currently living at a nursing home in Denver unable to return to the apartment due to a lack of service supports and now a lack of funds to remain in the apartment without David’s monthly disability payments.
Erin and Jana both live in LA. Neither of them has full employment benefits, meaning no paid time off. The tasks before them are large and will require funds that they do not have and time they cannot afford to lose from work. They include paying for their father’s cremation services, traveling back and forth to Denver to take care of business such as cleaning and clearing the apartment, finding a suitable place for Judy in LA, transporting Judy by medical transport to LA, addressing all of the affairs of the passing of their Dad, and of course missing work to do this.
We estimate that they will need a minimum of $25,000 to complete these task and possibly more as the process moves forward. They have asked me to reach out to family and friends and friends of friends to help meet these needs. Any amount no matter how small will help with this daunting process. Also sharing this with your friends would be so appreciated.
David was the kindest and most gentle of men. He loved Judy and his daughters beyond measure. Knowing that they have been given the support they need would surely mean everything to him.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity!
