My mother, Judy Frees Pedersen, a retired nurse of over 40 years, was a victim of a vicious and highly elaborate scam. The scammers confiscated and stole all the money she had acquired and saved from her nursing retirement.

For six weeks, the scammers, called her twice a day threatening prosecution on fake charges, manipulating, and psychologically wearing her down. The scheme was calculated and relentless. As part of this she was convinced to sign a fake verbal "non-disclosure agreement". This was designed to silence her and create fear and compliance, and prevent her from seeking help. It only came to a stop when the retirement was completely drained and no more could stolen.

My mother is a very active member of the community, and has dedicated her life to caring and helping others. She is the primary care give of her husband ( a veteran) with multiple health issues, along with dealing with health issues herself. They are now struggling to pay their monthly bills, including medical, and several expensive medications with only their limited social security.

Beyond the financial devastation, this traumatic experience has caused mental and emotional trauma. The isolation and fear of those six weeks continue to haunt her. No one, especially, someone who has committed their live to helping and serving others deserves this cruelty.

Sadly, these scammers target and victimize the elderly and most vulnerable and rip their very security from underneath them. They are rarely or never prosecuted and their victims are striped of any chance of recovery their losses. They are left with no other option but to ask for financial help and support from family, friends, and generous support from the community.

We are asking for help to restore some stability and peace of mind for my mother and father. Any contribution, no matter what size, would be greatly appreciated and go directly toward medical expenses, medications, and essential living costs.
